About us

We are committed to transforming how mental health is seen and supported in Asia.
Through our online therapy platforms and our Instagram community @mentalcareclub, we’re working to make mental health care feel safe, accessible, and culturally relevant. Whether it’s providing one-on-one support, training future therapists, or creating content that sparks awareness, our mission is clear:
To make mental well-being a part of everyday life—not a last resort.
We’re passionate about bridging the gap between those seeking help and the professionals who can support them. We believe in the power of human connection—and in technology as a tool to make mental health support available to all.

feature

If you’ve ever thought, “Everyone else is dealing with this too,” or “I just need to push a little harder,” and ended up putting your own mental health on hold, we want to reach you. Here, we make it easier to face your feelings by removing the usual barriers—shame, cost, and accessibility. Sometimes, taking just one small step is all it takes to start seeing life differently. Let’s take that step together.

Find a therapist who truly understands you.

Everyone goes through mental health struggles, but not everyone can afford to pay ¥10,000 for an hour-long session. In reality, those with unstable incomes often face more anxiety and challenges, yet they are unable to seek support due to time or financial constraints. My Mental Care is committed to diversity, bringing professionals from a wide range of backgrounds to create an inclusive environment capable of supporting people with diverse needs.

A new option between self-care and clinical care

“Just push through” only gets you so far. When you’re running on empty, here’s another way forward.

My Mental Care offers an option for those times when daily self-care alone isn’t enough, but clinical treatment isn’t necessary either. Talk therapy helps you work through your feelings, not only during difficult moments, but also when you want to better understand yourself or make meaningful changes in your life.

From finding the right therapist to attending your sessions, everything is fully online. You can receive support at your own pace, from your own space, and in a way that fits your lifestyle.

Care you can trust, backed by ongoing training and support

At My Mental Care, we work with both graduate-level clinical psychology students and early-career therapists, all dedicated to providing thoughtful, professional support. That’s why we invest in regular training and clinical supervision, helping every therapist continue to grow in both skill and care.

Our goal isn’t just to listen, but to truly understand each person and walk alongside them in finding what’s best for their unique situation. We strive to offer care that feels safe, sincere, and grounded in trust.

FAQ

What is My Mental Care?

My Mental Care is a fully online talk therapy platform. It provides an affordable and accessible way to receive mental health support — especially for those who don’t need clinical treatment, but still want to care for their emotional well-being. We aim to support people who may have felt hesitant to seek help due to stigma or cost, and help them take steps toward a better life.

What’s the difference between fortune-telling and therapy?

Fortune-telling uses tools like astrology or tarot cards to predict the future or reveal patterns of destiny, but it lacks scientific grounding. In contrast, therapy is rooted in psychology and focuses on emotional health and problem-solving. A licensed therapist works with you to explore your emotions and behavioral patterns, supporting meaningful change over time. That said, for some people, even a positive message from fortune-telling can boost confidence or motivate action.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy focuses on emotional healing and understanding your past experiences, while coaching emphasizes future goals and actionable steps. Therapy is ideal for exploring inner struggles; coaching is better for motivation and performance. See more in this article (Japanese)

What kind of benefits can I expect from My Mental Care?

Therapy with My Mental Care can support many areas of personal growth — including self-understanding, emotional clarity, better communication, stress management, improved behavior patterns, and more confidence. Your therapist tailors their approach to your needs, helping you relieve emotional burdens and make better decisions in daily life.

What is talk therapy?

Talk therapy is a process of expressing your thoughts and feelings through conversation. By verbalizing what’s weighing on your mind, you can gain clarity and better understand yourself. Through open dialogue with a therapist, you may discover hidden thoughts and feelings, identify root causes of issues, and begin to heal. Talking in a safe space also reduces loneliness and anxiety, and helps improve emotional resilience. Over time, you can also build stress management skills and strengthen your relationships.

Is there anything I should prepare before my session?

It helps to find a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax. Writing down the topics you want to talk about in advance may help you feel more prepared. Filling out the intake form beforehand also helps your therapist understand how best to support you.

What if I don’t feel like my therapist is the right fit?

No problem — you can always switch. We use your questionnaire responses to match you with several potential therapists, so it’s easy to request a rematch if something doesn’t feel right.

Is the first session free with a new therapist?

Only your first ever 15-minute session with My Mental Care is free. It’s a chance to get a feel for your therapist, share your current concerns, and talk about the direction you’d like to take in therapy.

Do I need to have my camera on during sessions?

Yes. To build trust and ensure safety, we ask that you keep your camera on during your session. Research shows that seeing facial expressions and the surrounding environment improves communication and the overall effectiveness of therapy.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your goals and situation. In the first session, you and your therapist will clarify your goals and create a plan together. Therapy ends when you feel satisfied with your progress and confident in your emotional well-being — but you’re always welcome to continue or return for support anytime.

I want to cancel or reschedule my initial session.

If you want to cancel your first session, please click the “View Details / Cancel” button in your chat to complete the cancellation process. If you’d like to reschedule, please cancel your current booking first, then make a new reservation.

I completely forgot about my session. What happens in this case?

If you miss your session without notice, it will be considered a no-show. For your first session, it will be automatically marked as used, and your next booking will be for a regular 50-minute session. For 50-minute sessions, the full session fee will be charged.
